At Barwon Heads, Junior Footy is the foundation upon which our whole Club is built and as such, it is treated as one of the Club’s most important priorities. Introducing kids – both boys and girls – to footy and growing their love of the game is one of the things everyone at the Club loves most and does best.

In all our junior teams, we aim to maximise and emphasise game-day participation and enjoyment. This aligns to our club values and program priorities, as well as AFL Barwon’s policies, ensuring we support our junior players to build on and develop their football skills, nurture physical and emotional development and improve overall wellbeing.

Our priorities for the Junior Football program are:

Player Retention – providing an environment that fosters a fun, supportive and constructive environment for players is essential for building strong club culture and developing players who want to continue playing footy at our club.

Player Development –we are focused on developing all players who have a desire to improve and better themselves, not just the stronger players.

Player Welfare – we recognise that football and the football club play a variety of roles in people’s lives, and we strive to create a positive environment where all members feel safe and welcome.
Winning games and playing finals is just an indicator of the success of the program priorities. At Barwon Heads we want to instil a winning culture in our teams, but never at the expense of the above priorities or our Club values.

So get on board and join the Seagulls! With a strong program, terrific coaches and fun environment your junior footy journey could not be off to a better start!
